19 HIJACKING

As soon as you impose press censorship the 'Save Our Loved Ones' committee get in touch with the news agencies from Corrupta. The press, radio and TV in Corrupta run stories about your lack of feeling for the danger to the hostages' lives.

This makes the government of Corrupta demand privately that you negotiate with the hijackers. They say they are very worried about the fate of their own 50 nationals.

What next?

15 Propose that you and Corrupta form a joint negotiating team.

3 Refuse all negotiations and make your refusal public.

18 HIJACKING

You have decided to take a hard line: you will not negotiate with the hijackers. The press, radio and television in your country tell the people of your decision. Your office receives hundreds of angry telephone calls from relatives of the hostages. The relatives form a 'Save Our Loved Ones' committee and create an online petition. The media are very symapthetic to them.
What are you going to do about this?

17 HIJACKING

You have voted against the colonel trying to negotiate with the President of Zatalia by phone. The cabinet doesn't want to risk sending an ex-minister to Zatalia, so there is no chance of having secret talks with Zatalia behind the hijackers' backs.

16 HIJACKING

12 hours before the hijacker's deadline your planes land at the airport in Zatalia. Your commandos leap from their planes and mow down the hijackers. They also kill 30 Zatalian soldiers and blow up all the aircraft on the ground. They rescue all your nationals and bring them safely home.

YOU ARE NOW OUT OF THE MAZE: SUCCESS!

14 HIJACKING

You hear from Zatalia that the hijackers have freed all the hostages except your nationals. The other hostages are now on their way by plane to Corrupta. The hijackers have sent you an ultimatum: either you free their jailed comrades within 48 hours or they will shoot all your nationals. They continue to demand that the exchange takes place in Zatalia.

What will you choose to do?

8 Agree to exchange prisoners for hostages in the airport of Zatalia.

16 Decide to send in the airforce to rescue your nationals now that they are the only hostages left.

9 Send a secret message to the President of Zatalia: You will bomb his capital unless he overpowers the hijackers and returns your nationals safely home.

13 HIJACKING

The colonel tries to negotiate by phone with the President of Zatalia. It is soon clear that the President supports the hijackers 100%.
