What is a maze? A maze is a puzzling game. A garden maze is a network, or labyrinth, of paths between high hedges. The puzzle is to find the paths that will lead most quickly to the exit, but the hedges prevent you from seeing where alternative routes lead. The aim is not to reach the exit as quickly as possible, but to solve the problem effectively. The entrance is 'the situation'. 2 HIJACKING

You wait anxiously all day for more news of the hijacked plane.At 6 in the evening you are told the plane landed in Zatalia, 2,000 kilometers from your country. Several years ago your army trained the Zatalian army. You suspect the government of Zatalia now supports the THP. At 9pm a message comes through from the hijackers demanding that you negotiate with them.

What are you going to do?

18 Refuse to negotiate under duress.

7 Tell Corrupta that, since the plane is theirs, they should take responsibility for negotiating with the hijackers.

4 Ask a friendly country's ambassador in Zatalia to negotiate with the hijackers on your behalf.

11 Ask your cabinet if you can send a former minister to Zatalia for secret talks with the Zatalian President. This ex-minister used to be a friend of the President.
